Favourite photograph

Hello! Today’s post is about a potograph, my favorite one. It was a really hard choice actually, i didn’t even knew were to start looking for it. Since my phone got no pictures yet (i’ve got robbed las week) but in Facebook were a ton of beautiful famlily and old pictures.

The one i choose was taken in 2012/2013 summer, by my father an it shows m
y brother Lucas, my cousin Felipe and I laughing in a restaurant in Maitencillo.

Just the atmosphere of the picture makes me feel happy, nostalgic and kinda sad.

Those 2 lil boys there are my best friends, im older by just a year and a year and half respectively, and almost every time we sit down in a table together we all finish crying laughing. We grew up together and i hope to stay with them till my last day on earth.

In the picture we were on vacation in probably my favorite place in chile, Maitencillo. We used to go there every single holiday incluiding long weekends and, according to my mother, every single birthday of mine until 2015. This beach city was my grandfathers home, so my father loves it.

The last time we went there was years ago…(It starts getting sad here) the place has changed a lot and we cant do anytihing about it. Our old house was rented for money needs and my family was pretty sad by that. The contract finally ended last year but for legal reasons and the pandemic we haven’t go there yet. Hope we can go there soon as i and all the people that went there once, loves that house.

GRADUATE STUDIES

Im currently studying at the university and i have no plans about my future, i mean i don’t know what i should do after. I do enjoy college but pursue another career looks impossible to me right now. The debts this first year left me are already huge and i dont feel like i could ever pay them to be honest.

Ignoring al that deppresing stuff if i had to choose some kind of graduate studies y would pick a fashion degree.

Fashion is currently one of my favorite things in the world, i could spend hundreds of dollars just in clothes.

I don’t know with certainty what subjects you must study but i surely would like to learn about the clothing design, sewing, knitting and manufacturing, brand marketing and the clothes impact to the world(environmental awareness).

The way i think i learn the most is a complete schedule, a full time, face-to-face grade to really submerge into the subject im studying and actually learn. Finally if i need to travel somewhere else to study i would to do it in another country, i means do a study abroad must be amazing. The other day i was reading about a fashion design degree in París, France. Imagine living in one of the prettiest cities in the world studiyng about one of your favorite things. Dreamy isn’t it?

Future Jobs

A future job i hope to do someday, as soon as posible to be honest, is being a designer.

Since i was a kid i’ve always enjoyed to do artist stuff such as drawing or painting, so naturally design was the first career that i think of when the time to choose arrived.

I prefeer to do an indoor job, it’s comfy but also would like to travel sometimes. If i could choose i would pick a great salary job but as a design student i already know that professionals here in chile doesnt make that much.

This is career is great an one of the reasons is the versatility of it. There’s  a lot of path you can take and my favorite even when it’s not in this university is fashion designer. Some of the people that inspire me were or are fashion designers, my favorite of all of them is Virgil Abloh, an american designer that died of cancer a year ago at 41. He get to be creative director for louie vouitton and as a graphic designer he made some of the most famous álbum covers in the music industry, my favorite one is the cover of Yeezus, Ye´s sixth álbum.

Im currently studying design here in Universidad de Chile, so not that far in time i must decide between minors, im thinking in graphic designer but im not sure yet. I would love to be a fashion designer someday too. Also design an álbum cover, i can’t wait to see something i made in spotify.

Best movie

Best Movie

To be honest im not a grat movie fan, i do like to watch movies but generally i don’t watch more than the same 5 comfort films in repeat.

My favorite of them is Forrest Gump.

There is such an optimistic/innocent atmosphere around this movie that makes me love it, everytime i see it the same scenes makes me cry, literally the same scenes every single time.

This movie is about Forrest, a little dumb kid from Alabama who grows up to live some of the most important moments of the American 20th century as the Vietnam war. The story isa ll about love and kindness, the realtionship with his mother and Jenny the love of his life.

He didn’t had a great childhood, he got bullied by a leg condition that forced him to use a weird prosthetic leg something. But even with that he get to be a great man, with great intentions and also good luck. This good attitude and luck is what let him to meet some iconic people such as Jhon F Kennedy, Jhon Lennon and Elvis Presley.

The inspiring aspect of the movie is heart touching to me, the way he struggles with grief all over his life and keeps being like he alwas was is lovely.

I also love Robert zemeckis the director, he directed other great movies like Back to the future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and A Christmas Carol.

Best Concert

As i have written in an post before, music is my favorite thing in the world so, naturally, i love concerts like mmm... a lot(?) and the memories that i’ve had are meaningful to me as a holiday could be to someone else.

My best concert is kinda hard to choose, i not mean to flex but i’ve been to many, but my favorites were: Lollapalooza this year, Duki in 2018, Lollapalooza 2019 and C Tangana also this year.

I think that compare a festival and a single concert is kinda unffair, but i got to take this year’s Lollapalooza as the best concert that i ever attended. It was in march at the Bicentenary Park in Cerrillos and was just amazing to me.

I went with my brother, sister and cousin but the first day i met with my girlfriend at the time for Trueno’s concert, J Quiles concert and the Harry Nach one. That was only the first day, then at the second day we got to Tiago’s concert(the best one in my opinion) with my family and i enjoyed as i never did, the show was just so good that in the way back home we kept singing his songs feeling completely glad. The third day we saw Doja cat, The Strokes and Nicki Nicole, to mention some of them. The atmosphere there was amazing, people were very motivated and joyful so it was contagious and even not being that of a fan to the artists i felt really happy.

If im not wrong Lollapalooza is an American event that expanded to South America and it is celebrated in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia too.

For me it was a great three days experience that i sincerely reccomend, especialy if you go with great Company as i did but if not yaou can even meet cool people there or enjoy by yourself.    

Spain

Hello class, this is the second post i'd do so be patient, ok? Well in this post i'll be talking about Spain an why i would go there.

For starters you must know about the country. Spain is a western European country full of amazing culture an architecture. The capital is Madrid but there are a lot of interesting cities there such as Bacelona, Sevilla or Valencia. It also has some coastal places that are worth of visting too like the Islas Canarias, Mallorca, Ibiza or Málaga.

An important thing to me in a trip is how fun it will be, and what could be more enjoyable than a party? So, i’m aware that in Spain exists a strong party culture and is fulfilled of festivals, carnivals and local parties. I would love to go, experience that with friends and meet new people and, obviously, “carretear”.

At this point it seems obvious that i would go in vacation if i can, but going to study or work is something i just can’t complain about.

Another fascinating thing is the stadiums and how soccer is lived there, i love soocer and my favorite team in the world is from there, FC Barcelona and i love the idea of see them play in Camp Nou, the biggest arena in Barcelona.

The prettiest city of Spain in my opinion is Barcelona is beautiful in my dad’s words(he went there to study) and the Sagrada Familia is easily one of the most important buildings in the world that, the Roman colisseums in Sevilla and the half muslim-half catholic mezquita in Cordoba makes Spain a place that every architecture fan as me should visit.

In conclusion pretty landscapes, beaches, mountains, people and experiences are everywhere in Spain, so why i wouldn’t go.

 Autobiography 

Hi my name is Matias Aymans. I was born in 2003 so im 18 years old at the time. I'm a design student in the faculty of architecture and planning(FAU) of the University of Chile.

I've always lived in Santiago de Chile but i would love to move and see the world, right now im thinking in Buenos Aires, im not sure why i love that much that city but i was there to see my family who's Argentinian, that may be a reason why i care so much for that country, my mother side of the family is from there so kinda makes sense that going there to study or work had become a dream of mine.

Another of those dreams is being a musician, i love music and right now is the thing that i love the most. Some of my favorite musicians are Duki, C Tangana, Feid, Bad Bunny, Mac miller, Wos, Young Cister and Rels B.

One of the reasons why i appreciate music like that is cause it helps, music is by my side when i'm down  and makes the good times even better. I really can´t see myself without music and i would love to mean as much to someone as some singers means to me cause the way i relate with Mac miller or Kid Cudi when i'm sad, even coming from totally different places and realitys so apart i feel the same as they felt, and that, to me is just beautiful. 

I would love to be a singer someday, or a producer, or a creative director ina music project, well... actually any kind of artist related to that world would be a dream come true.

Meanwhile i'll just try to make better music and finishing the design career while listening songs.
